Maria Zankovetska was a famous actress who commanded the attention and admiration of Konstantin Stanislavsky, the father of ‘method acting,’ a style of acting practiced by well-known discriminating theatre actors today.
The Maria Zankovetska Academic Ukrainian Dramatic Theatre in Lviv was founded by Count Stanislaw Marion Skarbek and opened in 1842. Built in neoclassical style, it was one of the three largest buildings in Central Europe at the time. Since then the building has expanded, and its classic dramatic repertoire and musical concerts continue to attract satisfied audiences.

The beautiful foyer and first floor main hall are used as special venues for meetings and exhibitions.
