In 2019 Lviv hosted the first Night Summit where night mayors from London, Vilnius and Budapest discussed why nightlife is an important element of the development of every city. In 2022 Lviv NGO “Night Ambassadors” together with Ukrainian Music Association organized the second edition of Night Summit in Lviv combined with tours to Ukrainian cities that were damaged by russians. They invited 7 organizers of festivals and night events from Great Britain, Canada, Slovakia, Georgia, Macedonia, Latvia to discuss the ways of development of cultural life in Ukraine, taking into account the realities of the war and show what russians have done in Ukrainian cities, and how people kept on living there.

After visiting Kherson, Mykolaiv, Kharkiv, Odesa, Gostomel, Borodyanka, Irpin, spending 5 days at roads, seeing all the consequences of the occupation and the Russian “peace”, delegates met in Lviv to have discussions on how the night life transformed into the day life in Ukraine, how to work with problematic stakeholders (audience, neighbors, city council, partners, artists),how to comfortable nightlife for everyone (ensuring emotional comfort and physical safety for different audiences and different situations in clubs and festivals).
Speakers also shared their experience about nightlife in Tbilisi after the invasion, nightlife during the war in Israel, modern trends of nightlife in London. They also visited National Rehabilitation Center “Unbroken” in Lviv to speak with veterans and had a meeting with Lviv City Mayor Andriy Sadovyy.

Lviv Night Summit was not only an event for discussion. It also made a huge impact on night industries and communities of those countries who took part in the event. When they came back home they became cultural ambassadors of Ukraine, they explained and showed their colleagues what was going on in Ukraine, motivated them to collect funds, provide humanitarian aid and ensure the stable work of volunteer initiatives in Ukraine.

They also united and organized different cultural events where they collect money for Ukraniena who suffered from the Russian war and keep on doing it at different festivals right now in summer time.
