The Lviv International Stem Conference took place on April 9. There were more than 20 speakers from 6 countries in one day, namely Poland, Israel, Lithuania and Slovakia, Albania and, of course, Ukraine.

At the conference, more than 100 educators, company and project managers, teachers, experts from various fields, teachers, trainers and ambassadors of educational programs from Ukraine and abroad presented their achievements in the field of STEAM education, took part in a panel discussion about innovative learning approaches in the field of STEAM education.

The conference became an interactive educational platform for teachers and anyone interested in innovative education. Together with the speakers, they discussed the main areas of STEAM education such as: S – science; T-technology; E – engineering; A – art; M- mathematics.

Due to quarantine restrictions, the event was held online instead of the space of innovative education Lviv Open Lab, but, according to the organizers, it only allowed to invite more participants to the conference.

The event was possible thanks to the Lviv City Council, the Lviv Conference Bureau, the Teachers’ Guild NGO, and Lviv Open Lab.

STEAM is not just technical education, it is a much broader concept that combines creativity and technical knowledge. The purpose of STEAM-education is to teach specialists who have knowledge in many fields of science and focus on solved problems, rather than on the study of just theory.

Municipal Youth Center Lviv Open Lab is a space of innovative education in Sykhiv, part of the network of youth spaces TVORY!. The main purpose of the space is to promote science and technology among children and youth.
